December 9th Meeting – Elsie Hulsizer – More Glaciers, Bears and Totems or Why We’ve Made 5 Trips to SE Alaska

Hi Gals,

(The Christmas Cruises are beginning. Here is a link to the Argosy schedule:

OK, on to our program information. You won’t want to miss this one (REMEMBER IT’S THE 2nd MONDAY IN DECEMBER). Elsie Hulsizer will inspire you to more boating adventures. Elsie’s photography is amazing and she’s a popular Seattle Boat Show presenter.

Elsie - bearWhen Elsie and her husband Steve set off on their fifth trip to SE Alaska in 2013, they were determined to explore parts of SE Alaska they had never seen before. Blest by the best summer in Alaska in 30 years, they found not just new destinations but new (sunny) perspectives on the old ones. Come with them as they walk a glacial outwash plain, brave the entrance to Fords Terror, watch bears salmon fishing on Admiralty Island, explore limestone caves on Coronation Island, and celebrate new totem poles in Hydaburg. Elsie’s gorgeous pictures will have you wanting to visit Alaska five times too!

Elsie is the author of Voyages to Windward: Sailing Adventures on Vancouver Island’s West Coast and Glaciers, Bears and Totems: Sailing in Search of the Real Southeast Alaska. An autographed copy can make a nice Holiday gift for a boater on your list. She has them available for cash or check if interested.
