We want to thank all who participated in our Boat Show Volunteer Project. We observed you having a lot of fun, getting to know each other better and really reaching out to the boating community.
Our meeting next Monday, February 16, will be an active one. It will take something we observed at the Boat Show to the next level. Vivian and Marilyn are eager to get your feedback; to hear what you have to say about something important to our mission of helping women become safer and better boaters.
There are women out there who want to learn to boat and who want to buy boats, some are single, others have partners but want to learn on their own. Since boating is still largely a male dominated activity, are people in the industry such as boat brokers, boat builders and those who teach boating aware of the unique needs of women who boat or who want to? We asked, are the needs of this emerging group of boaters and boat buyers being overlooked?
Northwest Women in Boating is getting more widely known as a source of valuable knowledge and support for women who boat or who want to. We’d like to get your observations:
- What resources are needed to help empower women seeking a boat or boating experience?
- What do you think women want in a boat and in boat training? Do they know what to ask?
- How can we as a group more effectively empower the women out there who want to boat?
- How can we reach them better?
- And, what are your needs and wants as a woman who has or wants a boat, or who just loves being on the water?
The women who are drawn to our meetings have unique perspectives and lots of knowledge on the subject of the needs of women boaters. Let’s spend a relaxed evening sharing.
