Tour and overview of Natl. Weather Service Seattle Marine Program – Special field trip for the first 12 to sign up

Knowledge of weather and how it’s forecasted is critical to boaters and interesting to many of us. Northwest Women in Boating has arranged a special field trip (separate from our monthly meeting) for the first 12 gals who sign up. Sorry, ONLY 12 can be allowed for this event due to restrictions in the NOAA offices. (If more contact us, they will go on a waiting list to fill any cancellations.)

On Tuesday, May 5th at 5pm (you cannot arrive later than 5pm or you won’t be admitted) you will enjoy a tour in the NOAA offices (7600 Sand Point Way, in Seattle) that will focus on the types of services the National Weather Service provides. There will be an overview of the National Weather Service Seattle marine program. The attendees will also see what their forecast operations looks like.

We know those attending will learn and enjoy this unique opportunity. Be one of the first to sign up, email nwwbviv@gmail.com right away and if you’re in you’ll get a confirmation.

If you are part of the 12 who are going, it’s critical that you follow the instructions below or you won’t be admitted once there.

They will need to know if you are a non-U.S. citizen, so let us know if that is the case. If yes, you will need to fill out a special form. The campus security will need all of this information. Everyone will need to bring a valid government issued I.D. (e.g. driver’s license or passport). Please note that weapons are not allowed on campus. Campus security does conduct random vehicle searches.
