NWWB Meeting Mon. Sept. 21st Composting Toilets, Greywater Systems and Being More Environmentally Friendly On The Water

No more smelly hoses or pump outs: consider a composting toilet for your boat. Learn about greywater systems and living in more environmentally friendly ways on the water.

Having researched all the options for a marine head on their live aboard vintage tugboat, Juli and her husband decided to try a dry composting head.  It has worked so well, that they are still using this system after 6 yrs.  Composting toilets are not the solution for every boat, but for some they can be the perfect solution. She will also share their adventures in finding a solution to greywater and trying to be more green on their live aboard.

Julie has been a long-time enthusiastic member of NWWB. She is a professional photographer and her hobby is marine biology. She has volunteered in marine mammal rescue operations in Florida and California. She has great humor and is a wealth of information about boat renovation. She’s given popular composting toilet presentations at the boat show for several years. You have an opportunity to enjoy this interesting talk for free. It may not apply to your boat but you’ll leave with knowledge you may find helpful while visiting with other boaters around your marina or away cruising. Hey who knows, the subject of toilet options on boats and grey water may just come up at your next cocktail party! .

Please RSVP at nwwbviv@gmail.com if you plan on attending so we may set up the room appropriately and tell your boat-loving gal friends. Come and enjoy the evening.
