We are honored to offer you a special travelogue-based program by Sally-Christine Rodgers, author of,Convergence: A Voyage Through French Polynesia.
As a woman on the water, Sally-Christine has a lifetime of adventures and major boating tales to tell. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to experience, through her talk, the beauty of French Polynesia and her family’s pathway there onboard their Wylie 66, customized to meet their needs. Her tales of the trip are inevitably filled with exciting and character building experiences and continue our vision for this organization of bringing to you inspiration for what you can do as a woman on the water.
Sally-Christine maintains a lifetime passion for and active commitment to conservation. This will speak to all of us who, because of our more intimate involvement with nature as boaters, care about sustaining the health of the wonders of this world.
Copies of her beautifully illustrated book will be available for sale, the proceeds going to Marine Conservation.
Here is a link and excerpt from her website, convergencevoyages.com/
Sally-Christine Rodgers grew up as one of a “water tribe;” has lived near the water and worked in the marine industry all of her life. She has raced in the Vic Maui and Pacific Cup Races to Hawaii, and sailed with her husband and son across the South Pacific, South East Asia and in many parts of Europe. When not on the water, Rodgers has her hands in the earth, tending vineyards, keeping bees, and raising longhorns on the California coast.
Her passion for the oceans and her desire to raise awareness of their plight led Rodgers to support conservation efforts across the country and around the world. Rodgers and her husband jointly endowed a Duke University Professorship in Conservation Technology and a Platinum Leeds building dedicated to Marine Conservation Education at the Duke Marine Lab in Beaufort, NC.
More information on the boat, Convergence, can be found at this link, Cruising Journal by Sally’s husband, Randy Repass, Founder and Chairman of West Marine.
