Volunteering for NWWB Knot A Boat Booth Seattle Boat Show

Time To Volunteer For The Seattle Boat Show

It’s Seattle Boat Show time. You’ve been great in the past stepping up to volunteer. This year we need you to staff the Knot A Boat booth. It will be located, like last year, right next to the Information Booth. It’s a whole lot of fun, you don’t have to be a knot whiz and we’ll very much appreciate your help. If you already know you want to do it, please get your name in and desired shift as soon as possible as people are already calling to sign up for slots. Please email nwwbviv@gmail.com to request a spreadsheet enabling you to choose a shift or shifts. Beckie Garvie is our new point person organizing the volunteering this year. Once you request a spreadsheet and pick a shift or shifts, let her know asap on gmail at nwwbviv@gmail.com or give her a call at (206) 979-1870, especially if you’d like a particular day/shift.

We won’t be staffing the Information Booth this year. We’ve appreciated your kind willingness to volunteer in past years. That has been NWWB’s way of  ‘paying back’ the NMTA for use of their conference room for our meetings. But, things change. Many of us enjoyed doing that but policies evolve. We will still be holding meetings in the NMTA conference room.

New Members of the Knot A Boat Team

We would like to welcome and thank Beckie Garvie and Juli Tallino to active involvement on the Knot A Boat Team. Beckie will be the gal you will interact with about volunteering to staff the Knot A Boat Booth. Juli has done some spiffing up of our little “vessel”.  And a thanks to Waypoint Marine Group for providing a new home for Knot A Boat in their dry storage facility.

Important New Information About Volunteering

As a volunteer for the Knot A Boat Booth you will receive 2 tickets to the boat show – one you will need to use the day of your shift to get in. The second one you can use at another time or give to a special person in your life. You will enter through regular entrances rather than going through the office, as in past years. There are no parking passes this year so we are urging you to check with the partner on your shift to see if  carpooling is an option to share the cost of parking or take a bus or park down near the boats afloat and ride the shuttle to the Boat Show. It’s the best we can do.
