LOCATION CHANGE FOR THIS MEETING and you must RSVP AT firstname.lastname@example.org
Giving you a rare opportunity, the Monday, August 19th meeting will be hosted by the Seattle Harbor Patrol Unit at the top of Lake Union very close to where we usually meet (See Directions below). Join us for this chance to meet up close and personal with the professionals who patrol the waters we enjoy around Seattle. Officers will talk to us about what they do, and answer your questions. It’s interesting to learn what goes on behind the scenes and to learn of their take on staying safe on the water. Past meetings held at Harbor Patrol have impressed us and were enlightening in ways that surprised us.
We will enjoy a tour of their docks, boats and facilities. The SPD dive unit and fire boats are located there.
Always a popular meeting, as usual, hors d oeuvres/munchies are welcome which we’ll share with officers, but we won’t be doing wine. You must RSVP for this meeting.
Side note from Marilyn: I used to write a column for Nor’Westing Magazine called Waterbeat. I would write up on-the-water incidents like you’d see in a regular police blotter. I got to know Harbor Patrol officers and learned about all the diverse things they do. It’s a unique and fascinating element of the Seattle Police Department, of special interest to boaters.)
And, here’s good information to add to your boating resources, a link to Boating Safety and Water Safety information on the SPD website: https://www.seattle.gov/police/community-policing/boating-and-water-safety
Again, hors d oeuvres or munchies will be very welcome and we will share them with the officers on the shift. (We won’t be able to do wine.)
Date/Time: Monday, August 19th 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
